News broke earlier this past Monday that Goldenvoice has severed its ties with FYF Fest founder Sean Carlos. In an email Goldenvoice head Paul Tollett sent to booking agents, “Effective immediately, Goldenvoice has ended its relationship with Sean Carlson. We’re evaluating our path forward as it relates to FYF Fest.”

FYF (Fuck Yeah Fest) Festival was founded in 2004 by Sean Carlson. The festival was initially held at The Echo before expanding and moving to LA State Historic Park and then finally to LA Sports Arena and Exposition Park in 2014. Artists who have performed at the festival in the past include The Strokes, Kanye West, Interpol, Morrissey, Kendrick Lamar, Moby, Nine Inch Nails, Missy Elliott, Iggy Pop among others.

Yesterday Sean Carlson released a statement on Facebook which he admitted to and apologized for “behaving inappropriately” towards women. Four women have came forward with allegations that have experienced sexual misconduct from the founder. It’s unknown if this is the reason why Goldenvoice severed ties, but considering what’s happening with Kevin Spacey and Harvey Weinstein it would not be surprising.

It’s unknown at the current moment what will happen with FYF Festival in the future. With these allegations against the owner it’s not clear if the festival will occur next year. Only time will tell though.
