Hello Rockers! It feels that with this week the fun summer concerts are upon us! I’m personally super excited for all these great acts coming to Los Angeles! First up is Johnny Mathis coming to Pasadena. I’m just familiar with his classic song “Wonderful, Wonderful” that’s been featured in multiple shows. It’s such a beautiful song, would be incredible to see it performed live. Also in the Pasadena area is Berlin! I’ve seen this band 3 times and I’m planning on seeing them for a fourth time this year. They never disappoint and Terri Nunn is a wonder to see live. Last but not least the legendary Pedro Fernández comes to The Forum! He’s one of the few Latino artists that I need to cross off my bucket list. Definitely one of those artists that will swoon you off your feet. These great concert deals are listed below, take advantage of them while you still can!
Berlin at The Rose (May 17th)
New-Wave pop group Berlin was one of the top hitmakers of the 1980s, particularly after the iconic appearance of their hit song “Take My Breath Away” in the movie Top Gun. Berlin’s unforgettable melodies and cutting edge synth-pop sound earned them such hits as “No More Words,” “Masquerade” and “The Metro.” To this day, the band is led by its original sizzling vocalist Terri Nunn, who earned the No. 11 spot on VH1’s list of the “100 Greatest Women in Rock.” See this classic ’80s band when they play their hits at The Rose in Pasadena.
Johnny Mathis at Pasadena Civic Auditorium (May 16th)
Barbra Streisand may have said it best: “There are a number of good singers, a smaller handful of truly great singers, and then there’s Johnny Mathis.” The uber-romantic crooner, whose enduring hits include standards like “Misty,” “Chances Are,” “The Twelfth of Never” and “It’s Not for Me to Say,” is Columbia Records’ longest-running artist, with more than 350 million albums sold. Celebrating more than 60 years in showbiz, his crazy-versatile catalog of more than 70 albums ranges from jazz, pop, soul, soft rock, R&B, blues and country to his ever-popular Christmas collections. Catch this legendary entertainer at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium as part of his Voice of Romance Tour.
Pedro Fernández at The Forum (May 18th)
Taking the stage in his jet-black charro suit with silver-embroidered cape, Pedro Fernández dresses like a living legend, sporting the voice and career to match. Since his first performance at the age of seven, Fernández has starred in seven telenovelas, won four Latin Grammy Awards, acted in 25 films, coached the future stars of La Voz Kids on Telemundo, and long reigned as one of Mexico’s most gifted and telegenic heartthrobs. Known for such classics as “Mi Forma De Sentir,” “Amarte a la Antigua,” “Aventurero,” and “Yo No Fui,” Fernández released his 40th album last year, garnering a Latin Grammy nomination for “Arránquense Muchachos.” The accomplished musician and performer comes Stateside for a knockout concert at The Forum in Los Angeles.
